There are a few things, passions that unite the Magellan team, but the two which really brings us together is Art and great walks - especially The Hound - and that is why we can’t wait to try the Rehberger-Weg Art Hike.
The Rehberger-Weg, which is around five kilometers long, links two countries, two communities and two cultural institutions. The path runs between Weil am Rhein and Riehen or for easy understating from the Fondation Beyeler to the Vitra Campus.
The tour takes you past 24 Stops created by the artist Tobias Rehberger which mark a path between the two destinations, the two communities of Riehen and Weil am Rhein and the two countries of Switzerland and Germany.
The first 12 waymarkers were installed in September 2015, with the final 12 added by June 2016. The objects are not only way markers, but also have their own individual function - to be used, to fire the imagination and to tell a story. We are downloading the app and pulling on our walking boots as I write…

Notes for editors: Nestled in the heart of Europe where Switzerland, Germany and France meet, Basel - just a 10-minute drive from Basel EuroAirport - is a pocket-sized metropolis that combines Swiss quality with a multicultural population. The 40 museums, all with long-established collections and spectacular exhibitions are the foundation of Basel’s reputation as a city of culture. However, art is not only found in the myriad of museums, but is encountered across the entire city. Exciting juxtapositions are cast by the classical patrician houses and mediaeval churches side by side with modern buildings designed by major international architects such as Herzog & de Meuron or Renzo Piano. Foodies will not be disappointed in Basel either. Thanks to the city’s location, its cuisine is both excellent and eclectic. From the sunny banks of the Rhine, to the romantic streets of the Old Town to the countless boulevard cafés and trendy bars – every taste is catered for. There is always something going on in Basel!
