For this episode of “Shaken not Stirred” we bring you a truly authentic cocktail from The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the Sinapis Alba. This spicy cocktail is a unique blend of local and in-house ingredients including; Lillet, honey from the hotel’s rooftop bees, yellow mustard and a special twist - a mustard seed rimmed glass and boar sausage garnish!
Ingredients
- 45ml chardonnay
- 40ml Lillet
- 20ml runny honey
- 3/4 egg whites
- Yellow mustard
- Mustard seeds
- Boar sausage, gherkin pickle to garnish
Add the wine, Lillet, honey, ice and pinch of yellow mustard to a cocktail shaker and blend well and set aside. Mix the mustard powder and seeds together, before dipping a martini glass in the egg whites. Once the glass is covered in egg white dip into the mustard mix. Shake the mix again and strain into the glass. Garnish with a slice of boar sausage and gherkin pickle on a stick and enjoy!
