This April Normandy will host their annual tulip festival at Château de Vendeuvre in Calvados. Visitors will be able to marvel at more than 30,000 tulips, grape hyacinths and narcissi!

The Cahors Blues Festival (13th - 18th July) festival attracts the stars of tomorrow as well as the biggest names in blues, in the past they have welcomed Ray Charles, James Brown Nina Simone and so on.

The Montreux Jazz Festival will hit the beat from 3rd July. Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, the Montreux Jazz Festival has become an unmissable event for music fans over the years, both in Switzerland and abroad. All the greats have performed on the festival’s various stages, from Miles Davis to Ray Charles, through to David Bowie and Massive Attack. Jazz music may have constituted the Festival’s historic roots, but other musical styles quickly found their place within the festival, sharing a common bond of musical curiosity and mutual enthusiasm. Distinguishing itself by its ambitious programming choices, for two weeks the Montreux Jazz Festival offers an ideal platform for musicians in an intimate setting.

Unique in Switzerland, the 10th Basel Tattoo (17th - 25th July) is the world’s second largest and one of the most spectacular open-air tattoos. Since premiering in 2006, the Basel Tattoo has been attended by over a half million live spectators. Every year, 120,000 visitors enjoy this grand show of marching music with its fine signature blend of the traditional and the innovative. Another wave of some 125,000 visitors attends the Basel Tattoo Parades passing through the historic centres of Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau.

Every July Vallauris in the Côte d’Azur celebrates the enigmatic artist Pablo Picasso, who worked ceramics in the Madoura studios at Vallauris from 1946 to 1973.

Driven by the influence of the “Sons of Anarchy” series, the Durtal association The Bike Brothers is importing North American culture to big mechanical meetings in the Loir Valley. Cars and motorcycles, mainly “made in USA”, are on show, shining brightly under our astonished eyes. On the programme for this 100% brotherly event: concerts, country dance, motorcycle parade…

The 66th Music festival in Menton is the highlight of the country’s summer cultural season, hostting renowned orchestras and the great names in music under the stars.

Jazz Between Two Towers is one of the very best of international, national and regional talent is always on show at this fabulous festival. There are free concerts, paid for concerts, master classes, dance classes, conferences and all sorts of activities for the jazz enthusiast, event runs 3rd - 9th October.

Jazz in Marciac is one of the greatest jazz festivals in France attracting the very best acts.

The Lyon Festival of Lights takes place every December and is a city wide event, this innovative light festival includes stand alone lighting sculptures and displays set against the ancient architectural landmarks of Lyon – magical and unique.
