We asked The Good life France editor Janine Marsh to give us her three top tips to Marseille - one of Euro 2016’s host cities.
- Don’t miss the extraordinary Basilica Notre Dame, an ornate cathedral set on top of a hill from which the panoramic views over the city are breath-taking.
- Head to the quay side and hop on a boat to the islands which takes around 20 minutes but feels like a whole new, tranquil world from the busy city.
- Try the local speciality bouillabaisse, a spicy fish stew. Expect to pay around €40 euros a head for a good bouillabaisse.
Janine has recently written a guide to all of the UEFA 2016 host cities, with everything you need to know if you are heading to France for the football (or not) this Summer.
