If I were teeny tiny…!

May 11, 2015 By Alexandra

There is always so much to think about when travelling with babies and young children. There is so much to take away – from bottles to sterilisers, changing mats to potties … and then how to entertain the little ones when you are on holiday? Many of Les Castels four and five star sites in France are very well equipped to help mums and dads make their holiday experience much more satisfying and easy.

For example in the Premium accommodation of all the sites the baby kit (baby bed or cot and highchair) is included in the price, as is a Wendy - tent for the small children to play in! Several sites have created a water feature with jets and aqua play areas for the teenies - Château de Poinsouze, Le Ruisseau des Pyrénées, Saint Avit Loisirs, Douce Quiétude to name but a few. Some sites have adventure trails for the little ones – even for children under three ! The Domaine des Ormes and the Criques de Porteils are cases in point.

New for 2015 are some features that the tinier visitors are certain to enjoy such as the Circus School at the Domaine de Massereau, a barbecue down on the farm at the Forge de Sainte-Marie, where the guests arrive by tractor and there are guided tours to see the baby animals. What about the Castel L’Ardéchois, where one of the shower blocks has been converted for the children into a fun Grotto! Mum and Dad may leave their toiletries in some of the private washing areas too, which saves lugging shampoos and baby wash backwards and forwards. Le Coin des Pitchouns at the Domaine de La Bergerie is one of the only crèche available for children under three – very unusual. The crèche is run by professionals and is available in high season for a small fee paid locally.

Several Les Castels sites have other facilities for families with youngsters. The Village Funny Forest at Séquoia Parc is new this year and is a mini-village in a pedestrian area with a private secure play area for the little ones plus all the baby linen etc is provided free of charge. The Manoir at the Castel Le Brévedent in Calvados has a special parents room with steriliser, micro-waves, bottle warmer and so on. Many of the mobile homes here are adapted for babies, with cots, toys and more. The Chêne Blanc Premium Baby accommodation at the Castel Domaine de Sévenier in the Ardèche has not only cots and high chairs but also baby-bath, push chair, bottle warmer and changing table.

Les Castels four and five star camping sites in France are ideal for families – and that means they cater for ALL the family, so book now for a baby friendly holiday 2015.
