Famous Agents Members Can Use Points to Assist Micro-Finance Organisation, With Matching Contribution from Fairmont
London, November 2012 – The holiday season is almost here and this year Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is offering members of the Famous Agents education and rewards programme the chance to give back by helping small entrepreneurs around the world grow their businesses and lift their families out of poverty. Working with Kiva, a non-profit organisation that provides micro-loans to local business people, agents who redeem 25 of their Famous Agents points for a Kiva gift card from until 6th January 2013 will have their contribution matched by the Famous Agents programme, increasing their Kiva gift card value to USD50.
As fellow business people, travel agents know that without capital a business cannot grow. After redeeming their points for a Kiva gift card, agents can use the funds to provide micro-loans to small entrepreneurs such as weavers, potters, or farmers who have limited access to traditional banking systems.
