In the Frame: I'm on a Break

For this “In the Frame”, we have chosen an image from a recent trip to Venice. With so many wonderful sights in this ancient city with its winding water ways, you will be excused for thinking, why this picture? Well maybe if we give you a little context…

This was taking at 10am and it was already 30 degrees centigrade, with little breeze coming off the canals. The main gondola terminals a buzz with tourists trying to escape the heat and take a romantic tour and this lone gondolier moored up on a quite stretch, ignored questions on fares, to call his mother to see if she was okay in the heat.
