Whether spending time experiencing culture, pursuing an
activity or enjoying typical French hospitality, the Midi-Pyrénées
and its rustic charm appeals to most tastes.
Today, the region is divided between high-tech and cosmopolitan
Toulouse - also known as the “Pink City” -
and the deep countryside with its traditional agricultural products.
Toulouse is one of the finest and most attractive cities in France,
plus there are other great short break destinations like Albi, home
of the Museum of Toulouse-Lautrec, and Cahors.
Visit one of the spa towns or prehistoric caves, paddle a canoe
along Le Lot or feast on seasonal home-cooked meals like cassoulet
whilst enjoying one of the many charming hotels and chambres d’hôtes
the area has to offer.
Renowned landmarks including the beautiful walled town 'Cordes-sur-Ciel',
the Canal du Midi - the oldest European canal still in use - and
the Millau Viaduct, designed by Sir Norman Foster, attract numerous
visitors each year to this stunning region. Famous festivals include
Jazz in Marciac and "les Orgues" in Toulouse.
