Riviera Undergoes US$5 Million Make-Over

Many know it as the Palm Springs landmark where Sinatra held huge charity events, Jerry Lewis left them laughing and Bing Crosby crooned while they swooned. The famous Riviera Resort & Racquet Club is about to undergo a cool US$5 million, two-year renovation. All guest rooms, suites, corridors and the lobby – including beds, bedroom sets, carpets, draperies, and patio and outdoor bar furniture – will be transformed to reflect the warm desert tones of Palm Springs with an eclectic combination of tropical and Polynesian design elements. The project will occur during the summers of 2002 and 2003 to cause as little disturbance to guests as possible.
