Wish List Meets Philanthropy at King Pacific Lodge
Guests empower First Nation by donating to Guarding the Gifts
Here’s a chance to check a trip off your wish list, while earning good karma. For every donation to Guarding the Gifts before 15th April 2012, King Pacific Lodge, A Rosewood Resort, will deduct the equivalent up to GBP 640 per person (CDN 1,000) from a stay at the lodge. Voted the number one resort in Canada by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, the floating wilderness lodge on British Columbia’s north coast is known for its passionate stewardship of the pristine wilderness that surrounds it. The lodge is also acknowledged for its commitment to the Gitga’at First Nation community, with whom it shares this extraordinary corner of the Great Bear Rainforest. This special offer underscores the lodge’s commitment to conservation and invites guests to practice philanthropy while experiencing one of the world’s extraordinary treasures.
The Great Bear Rainforest contains 25 per cent of the world’s remaining temperate rainforest. Also the only place in the world where the Kermode or ‘spirit’ bear lives, this rainforest is sacred to the Gitga’at people, and a place that determines their quality of life. When guests visit the lodge to hike and kayak in remote areas, fish for the plentiful Pacific salmon, and watch breaching humpback whales, they are often humbled by the grandeur of the landscape and the traditions of the local communities that have called it home for thousands of years.
By helping to promote Guarding the Gifts, King Pacific Lodge is empowering the First Nation community of Hartley Bay to conserve the health of Canada’s northern coastline, oceans and land, while offering guests to the lodge a tangible benefit when they offer their support.
The 2012 season at King Pacific Lodge runs from 1st June to 24th September to learn more about becoming a patron of the rainforest at King Pacific Lodge this summer, visit www.kingpacificlodge.com.
