When I recently visited Basel, I chanced upon a tradition which I have never heard of before and rather liked. Just inside the entrance of their beautiful town hall, laid out on a table, lies a large book – a wish book.
For the past 20 years, Basel has invited both visitors and citizens to write a contribution in their annual Wish Book which is normally open during the Advent period – 28th November – 6th January. Write down your private thoughts, your hopes and dreams for the future for all to see. What a great idea – and if you are in Basel, you have another three days of access before it is closed for this year!
