It has just been announced (October 2018) that the French campsite specialists Les Castels and Sites&Paysages will be working very closely together for 2019 with a view to merging at the end of next year. The unification of the two companies means there will be a choice of 75 different sites throughout France.
The agreement with Sites&Paysages does not mean that either company will lose their integrity and particular specialisation. Les Castels is known for their ‘art de vivre’ whilst Sites&Paysages, for their closeness to nature and the ‘terroir’. Les Castels will have 29 sites on offer next year and Sites&Paysages 46.
Both companies have similar values in common – the emphasis on the individuality of the site, the history of the owners and the welcome they provide for holidaymakers – policies that make them stand out from other camping specialists.
Denis Bonte, director of Les Castels, sees the agreement between the companies as innovative and ambitious. “This new partership allows us to develop the thematic side of the camping holiday experience and allow our guests to enjoy a special holiday. Site&Paysages’ vision is very similar and consequently the tie-up makes absolute sense.”
Véronique Decamps, director of Sites&Paysages, also believes that the fundamental principles of the two companies are so alike that moving forward together will provide a completely favourable option to any competition there may be.
“Authenticity, closeness to nature, respect of the environment, well positioned accommodation, beautifully maintained sites and the aim to provide each client with the very best holiday we can – our two companies share a common vision for the future.”
Diamond Anniversary – Les Castels will be celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2019.
