On 1 December 2014, Franck Gervais will join Voyages-sncf.com group as CEO. Currently 37 years of age, he has served as CEO of high-speed rail operator Thalys since May 2011.
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and an engineer in the French Bridge and Highway Corps, he also earned an MBA from the French Collège des Ingénieurs (CDI) and diplomas from the London Business School and the Stanford Business School.
Gervais began his career in 2001 at the public works authority for the Alpes-Maritimes region before joining the French Ministry of Public Works, Transport, Territorial Development, Tourism and Maritime Affairs. There, he held successive positions as a technical advisor responsible for transport and research, then as an advisor on social and budgetary issues. In 2006, Franck Gervais joined the SNCF Group as Chief of Staff for the Chairman and General Management. From January 2007 to December 2009, Gervais was in charge of the Transilien rail network in the northern and western areas of Ile-de-France. He then went on to the Eiffage Group in January 2010 as Director of Maritime and River Projects.
As CEO of Thalys International, Gervais placed business development at the heart of his work, particularly through establishing new routes, diversifying the range of services and offering them on digital platforms. He also worked to transform Thalys into a full-function railway company. It was under his management that Thalys carried its 100 millionth passenger.
For Gervais, “joining Voyages-sncf.com is both an honour and a challenge. It is an honour to steer the leading company in French e-commerce and a challenge to set out the next steps in its development and to meet the high expectations of our 500,000 daily online visitors“.
The role of Voyages-sncf.com CEO had been filled since 2011 by Yves Tyrode, who has been appointed Managing Director of Digital and Communications for SNCF Group.
