Working closely with Team London Bridge & Southwark Council, London Bridge Hotel has opened its doors to local artists, in an exhibition displaying a range of artworks in the public areas of the hotel to support the Southwark community.
OPEN, the aptly named arts initiative, will be displaying works until June 2019 when a further selection of artworks by local artists will be chosen for show in both London Bridge Hotel and the adjoining Quarter Bar & Lounge.

Over 100 artists submitted work for consideration with 14 being asked to participate in this first phase of the London Bridge Hotel OPEN which gives potential buyers the opportunity to see an artwork in an environment more akin to a contemporary home. All OPEN art works can be purchased.
London Bridge Hotel Julio Marques has proclaimed himself “overwhelmed with the wealth of talent that can be found in Southwark”. Marques continued, “Our hotel has been here for over 20 years and when I took over the directorship of the property in the summer of last year, I wanted to find some way of thanking the local community for supporting our hotel and bar over the years. So when I met with Team London Bridge. I proposed this initiative and we developed the concept together. Our clientele have been fascinated by the artworks on display, adding another contemporary cultural level to their stay here in historic Southwark.”
Added Ellie Beedham, the Director of Arts and Culture for Team London Bridge, “It is clear that there is an appetite for local artists to show their work in alternative venues. London Bridge Hotel is leading the way in this new initiative for artists and businesses to work together to promote art and culture in London Bridge.”
