Background on The Merrion: Opened in October 1997, The Merrion was created from an historic row of Georgian townhouses and the eighteenth century architecture and design have been preserved throughout the hotel. The 145-room property includes twenty suites, and features state-of-the art technology thoughtfully incorporated into the period-Georgian décor. Background on The Clarence: Part of the Dublin scene since 1852 and purchased by two members of the rock group U2 in 1992, The Clarence has since been thoughtfully restored by The Edge and Bono. The Clarence now boasts its own unique and welcoming personality, merging the traditional and the contemporary to make it one of the most fashionable addresses in Dublin. The Clarence boasts 97 individually appointed bedrooms and one suite.
