February 2008: Ambassadors Bloomsbury has been creating some healthy choices to help guests get into shape in 2008. The contemporary four-star hotel, located in the cultural heart of London, is offering guests the chance to keep down the calories with a selection of healthy choices.

For breakfast at Number Twelve restaurant, guests are invited to try the range of homemade fruit smoothies and freshly squeezed juices, such as orange, pink grapefruit, carrot, apricot and melon, dependant on the fruits in season. Head Chef Santino Busciglio has created a detox rhubarb soup with vanilla and lemon grass, for those slightly more adventurous clients. Santino realises that breakfast for his clients is often taken on the move, and so he makes healthy sandwiches, made with a selection of freshly baked multigrain breads.

As part of their conference programme, Ambassadors Bloomsbury has created some healthy snack bars, such as home made flapjacks with toasted oat flakes and cranberries, to provide guests with much-needed brain food and energy bursts. Fresh fruit is always available, to keep sugar levels high during all day meetings. Healthy menu options for banqueting include garlic and chilli scented zucchini served with carrots and mangetout, roasted plaice goujons with lemon wedges, Sardinian cous cous salad with sun blushed tomatoes and cucumber salad with mint and yoghurt.

Santino has formulated a delicious menu at Number Twelve, and has focussed his cooking philosophy on creating healthy dishes, with ingredients sourced from different regions of the UK.
