WARWICK INTERNATIONAL HOTELS

Moving Towards The 21st Century

Warwick International Hotels was launched in 1980 with the purchase of The Warwick New York, a landmark hotel built by William Randolph Hearst for his Hollywood friends.  Known for its unique management style, the Warwick group has expanded quickly throughout the world, establishing a reputation for superior accommodation and service in leading business and leisure destinations.

Soon after the purchase of the New York property, Warwick International moved quickly to establish a foothold in Europe with the acquisition of the Hotel Le Warwick-Champs Elysées in Paris, just off the famous Parisian avenue.  Other acquisitions quickly followed: The Royal Windsor in Brussels, a member of “The Leading Hotels of the World” is steps from the Grand Place and the Hotel Westminster in Paris is ideally located on the prestigious rue de la Paix between Place Vendôme and Opera.  The Warwick Geneva, acquired in 1982, provides a perfect central location near Lake Geneva.

From a solid base in New York and Western Europe, Warwick expanded into the leisure market.  The acquisition of a modern resort on the Coral Coast of Fiji became the Warwick Fiji.  The success of this project spurred further expansion in Fiji and the nearby Naviti Resort was acquired.  This tropical oasis along with the neighbouring Warwick Fiji, provide a unique experience for travellers.

During the 80’s, additional expansion began in the United States with the opening of The Warwick Seattle and The Warwick Denver, both ideally located in the city centres.  The Warwick Denver was formally the famous Playboy Club Hotel and when purchased by Warwick was shut down and underwent a complete US$23 million renovation and upgrade.  It features a luxurious, rooftop, heated pool with spectacular views of downtown Denver, well-equipped fitness center and fabulous Randolf’s Bar and Restaurant with a landscaped, outdoor eating patio.

Entering into the 90’s, The Warwick Regis in San Francisco was added.  It is also centrally located, just off newly restored Union Square and features wonderful antiques and luxurious canopy beds.

The 1990’s also marked a new direction for Warwick with the introduction of an affiliate hotel programme.  Numerous independent hotels throughout the world have embraced this concept.  The number of affiliate hotels and resorts, now over 23, has grown threefold in just four years with hotels and resorts in France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Fiji, Thailand, and South Africa.

Warwick International Hotels provides marketing, sales, and private label reservation services to qualified independent hotels seeking worldwide recognition.  The ability to effectively market independent hotels on a worldwide basis has contributed to the rapid growth of the programme.
