Architect / Designers: J F Caires – a well-known Madeiran with extensive international experience. Space planning has been done by the Ransley Group (UK) and the seaside landscaping by Unwin Jones Partnership (UK). Lighting designers Equation (UK) have done all the exteriors and public spaces. Interior design has been handled by Interdeco (SA).
Décor The illusion of East meets West has been skilfully created in public areas with the dispersion of an array of exotic and unconventional furniture. African canoes are suspended from the ceilings, Pygmy beds act as coffee tables, Asian parakeet cages stand on French Armoires and wedding artefacts. The décor gives the hotel a feeling of glorious travel and cultures, harmoniously mixing the past, present and future.
