Meeting and Private Dining Rooms

at The Merrion

The Merrion, Dublin's most luxurious 5-star hotel, offers six of the most impressive rooms available in Dublin for high-level meetings or private entertaining.

The hotel has been created from four elegant townhouses on Upper Merrion Street, in the centre of Dublin, opposite Government Buildings. All of these are superb examples of Irish Georgian architecture, especially No. 24, originally known as Mornington House and built in the 1760's for Lord Mornington, the first Duke of Wellington's father. Here, six magnificent rooms on the ground and first floors have been carefully restored and dedicated to private dining and meetings, with their own separate entrance and reception lobby.

Designed to be used separately or in combination, the salons vary in size and decor, from The Wellington, which can hold up to 100 people for a reception, or 50 for a meeting, to The Pembroke with a capacity of 12 for a top board meeting or private seated meal.

Each room is decorated in suitable grand style, using rich colours, silk curtains and specially commissioned carpets with an 18th century pattern. Great care has been taken to retain all the outstanding architectural features for which Georgian Dublin is so famous - intricate plasterwork, high ceilings and large windows.

Although each room might feel like a grand but comfortable salon in a private house, behind the scenes the latest technology ensures that serious business can be transacted with the greatest of ease. All rooms have a full range of audio-visual aids, including points for microphones, modems and ISDN dataport and video conferencing facility, remote controlled video and TV, slide projectors and screens, dimmer controlled lighting and black-out blinds.

Secure valet parking for 50 cars is available in The Merrion's own underground car park. Guests staying at The Merrion can use the facilities provided by The Merrion's Tethra Spa which offers the latest in exercise equipment, an 18-metre swimming pool, a steamroom and treatments such as massages, therapies and beauty treatments.
