HEADWATER’S SUMMER 2001/2

OVERVIEW:             Headwater Europe 2001 is the summer programme of the operator.  The new brochure will be out in December and, like the current edition, will have a wealth of active holiday ideas in Europe and North Africa.  Walking, cycling, canoeing and discovery holidays are on offer.

WHAT DESTINATIONS:

At present Headwater have France in the brochure – the Creuse, the Loire, Poitou-Charentes, Burgundy, the Ardennes and Jura, Alsace, the Lot and Dordogne, Languedoc, Provence, Corsica, the Pyrenees, Massif Central and the Alps.  In Italy explore the Dolomites, Venetia, Tuscany, Umbria, Tuscia, the Bay of Naples, Capri and Sicily.  Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Gozo (Malta), Greece, Cyprus, Morocco, Norway and the Czech Republic are other possibilities.

WHAT’S NEW 2002?:

Most probably Jordan will be a new destination next year as well as Catalonia, Turkey and the Black Forest.  Cookery holidays are being considered …by popular demand!

SOME FIGURES:    The 2002 brochure will ‘grow’ by about 15%.

The number of products on offer grows by about 20% year on year.

Roughly 60% of clients travel to France, 15% to Italy and 10% to Spain.

Headwater has approximately 6200 summer walkers and 2500 cyclists.

About 65,000 summer brochures are printed every year.

65% of bookings are repeats and recommendations.

PRICES:                     The lead in price in the current brochure is £279 per person for a self-drive holiday in the Creuse, France, for seven nights on a half-board basis.  This represents exceptional value for money.

Prices go up to about £1129 for a week in the Lot /Dordogne flying from the UK.
